Is the interface on an updated CB9 the same as CB light 2007? I have CB9 but it has not been updated since about 6 months and it has the old interface that does not have the windows vista look.
If this is so, an activated CB light would make CB9 useless. Is this your understanding also?

Try the ChessBase reader http://www.fritzload.com/download/cbreadersetup.exe .
I haven’t used it, but I think it serves the same purpose as CB light.
